Inside a Miami federal courthouse on Tuesday, 73-year-old former U.S. ambassador Victor Manuel Rocha was charged with acting as a foreign agent to defraud the United States.
Government agents say Rocha, the former American ambassador to Bolivia, allegedly worked as a secret agent for Cuba for more than four decades.
Prosecutors say after receiving a tip, an undercover FBI agent posed as a Cuban agent and contacted Rocha on WhatsApp, meeting him three times.
Rocha allegedly bragged about being a Cuban agent to protect the Castro regime.
Jennifer Johnson reports.
