Former Team GB athlete questions Parkrun's decision to delete records after transgender row

Former Team GB athlete Sharron Davies has questioned the timing of Parkrun's decision to wipe all speed records from its website.

Speaking to Sky News, the former Olympic swimmer suggested the change was made in response to a debate over trans runners, after it emerged in December that at least three Parkrun female records were held by transgender women.

The organisation announced this week it will no longer publish data such as first-place finishes, gender, course and age records, with the aim of making the events less competitive.
