Former Prime Minister of Ireland, Bertie Ahern, says that his country's strong links with the United States have been important in bringing investment to the country over the years.

Mr Ahern said there has been little contact between the UK and Ireland before the recent visit of Rishi Sunak, and that it was "a bit odd" that the institutions of the Good Friday Agreement had not been attended.

He said the government found it "very difficult to deal with Boris" while he lead the UK, despite Mr Johnson being "colourful and nice".
