The Assembly of First Nations is endorsing the Canadian federal government's multi-billion dollar settlement to compensate Indigenous people harmed by the lack of adequate funding for child and family welfare services on reserves.

The $23.3-billion final settlement agreement will see at least $40,000 paid out to eligible individuals and families.
