Firemen, Cop Among 9 Dead In Kolkata Fire, Other Top Stories

Nine people were killed in a huge fire that broke out in an office building in central Kolkata's Strand Road on Monday evening. Among the dead are four firemen and a police officer. The Trinamool Congress will release its election manifesto today. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will address a rally in Nandigram. A day after the DMK promised to give Rs. 1,000 per month for housewives with ration card, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami raised that figure and promises Rs. 1,500 a month for housewives.
