In the fifth round of talks with the government, the group of farmers went on a 'silent fast' and asked for a yes or no response to their main demand for withdrawal of all three new agricultural laws. In a meeting that lasted for about four hours with three Union ministers, including Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the farmer leaders asked the government to answer in a clear 'yes' or 'no' about whether it will repeal the laws or not.
