The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday present a clarification over the speculations about the remaining polling phases of the West Bengal assembly election.
This comes as mass gatherings at political rallies in the eight-phase West Bengal assembly election are stocking the fears of a rapid outbreak while the country deals with the second and more severe wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking to ABP News, CM Mamata Banerjee said that her party Trinamool Congress will ask the poll body to conduct voting for the remaining phases in one go as scheduled polling will lead to more cases of Coronavirus in the state.
