Imran Khan, Pakistan’s former prime minister, is to lead a protest march of his supporters, demanding early general elections.
Thousands of people are expected to join the 233 mile (375km) march, from the eastern city of Lahore, to the capital Islamabad.
The federal government has said it will not let the protesters in the capital, and are planning to deploy several thousand security personnel.
Mr Khan has been pushing for fresh elections since he was ousted as leader of Pakistan in April, after losing a no confidence vote.
