A court of appeal in France has upheld the conviction of former president Nicolas Sarkozy for corruption and influence peddling.
Sarkozy must wear an electronic bracelet at home for the first year of his sentence.
The other two years have been suspended.
His legal team says it will now take the case to France’s highest court.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from Paris.
