Twenty years after they vanished from the University of Cambridge, rare notebooks belonging to scientist Charles Darwin have been anonymously returned to their rightful place.
It was two decades ago that the pair of precious notebooks had apparently been stolen from the library's collection, with years of search efforts drawing no luck afterwards. But in March, a gift bag was dropped off, containing Darwin's notebooks themselves wrapped in plastic, with a message: "Librarian, Happy Easter, X."
