Europe has once again become the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That is the assessment of the World Health Organization (WHO), which says there are more infections there than in Asia and Africa combined.
Cases are hitting record levels, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, where vaccination rates are low.
