The European Union has launched a string of legal challenges against the UK in response to the British government's bill to amend the Northern Ireland Protocol.
The EU and UK agreed under the so-called Northern Ireland Protocol that there would be no new checks on goods crossing the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland - an EU member.
But the arrangement has disrupted trade between mainland Britain and Northern Ireland, setting the province apart from the rest of the UK.
If the British government's proposed bill becomes law, the EU could also take additional retaliatory measures against British commerce and travellers.
