In northern Ethiopia, the federal Ombudsman says as many as 400 people starved to death over the past six months. Among the regions where the situation is most desperate is Tigray, due to the ongoing drought AND conflict. Regional officials say they are 'on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe' similar to the famine in the 1980s.
