On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his disappointment with the United States after it vetoed a proposed United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

"Unfortunately, the ceasefire was obviously rejected with only America voting against it. By itself. Can there be such justice? Can there be such a just world? But what do we say?
A just world is actually possible — but not with America," Erdogan said.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, representatives of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed their support for a ceasefire in Gaza, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

“Our friends said that America was now alone on that issue, which we especially saw once again in the vote held at the United Nations,” Fidan added.
