Tunisia’s largest political party Ennahdha says it now wants talks to resolve the political crisis caused by President Kais Saied’s move to suspend parliament and sack the prime minister.
It had earlier called his actions a coup and said it was "unconstitutional".
The party called for elections to be held soon.
Tunisians protested on Sunday, directing their anger at Ennahdha.
The country is dealing with an economic crisis worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Al Jazeera's Laura Burdon-Manley reports.
