Baat Pate Ki: लोकसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले वाराणसी में अमूल बनास डेयरी प्लांट की शुरुआत कर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आर्थिक के साथ चुनावी समीकरण भी साधने की कोशिश की है। क्योंकि दूध उत्पादन और गोवंश पालन का काम आम तौर पर यादव समाज का पारंपरिक व्यापार माना जाता है. उत्तर प्रदेश में OBC की तमाम जातियां BJP के साथ जुड़ चुकी हैं लेकिन यादव समाज अब भी BJP से दूर समाजवादी पार्टी के साथ खड़ा है. पूर्वांचल और UP से सटे बिहार के कई ज़िलों में यादव मतदाता अच्छी खासी तादाद में हैं और कई सीटों पर जीत-हार तय करने की ताक़त रखते हैं. डेयरी एक्सपर्ट्स का कहना है कि वाराणसी में अमूल प्लांट को रोजाना 10 लाख लीटर दूध की ज़रूरत होगी।

Because milk production and cattle rearing are generally considered traditional businesses of the Yadav community. In Uttar Pradesh, all the OBC castes have joined the BJP, but the Yadav community is still away from the BJP and standing with the Samajwadi Party. Yadav voters are in large numbers in many districts of Purvanchal and Bihar adjacent to UP and have the power to decide victory or defeat on many seats. Dairy experts say that the Amul plant in Varanasi will require 10 lakh liters of milk daily.
