On Friday, the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called for the quick movement of aid trucks to Gaza, urging a meaningful number of trucks to enter Gaza daily. He emphasized the need for practical and expedited verifications of aid.

The spokesperson for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that Egypt has agreed to reopen its border crossing with Gaza to allow much-needed aid to reach Palestinians, although the details of the agreement are still being worked out.

Meanwhile, the EU has already pre-positioned 54 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including water, food, shelter, and sanitary materials, for delivery to Gaza once humanitarian access is ensured.

Despite all of these efforts, people in Gaza continue to plead for an end to Israel's siege of Gaza. "Stop bombing, stop Israel's aggression," said Tal'at Ghayaben, a man from Gaza waiting near the closed Rafah crossing.
