The Edinburgh Art Festival has made a triumphant return, as galleries and exhibition spaces reopen in the Scottish capital.
The coronavirus pandemic had forced festivals to be cancelled across the country.
At the city's festival of art, Lessons of the Hour, a film by Isaac Julien, tells the story of Frederick Douglass, a former US slave and abolitionist hero who fled the Deep South across the Atlantic to Edinburgh, where he found sanctuary.
