It's been one month since the Taliban plunged Afghanistan into another bout of uncertainty. They swept to power after seamlessly taking control of the capital Kabul for the first time in almost two decades. But what has changed in Afghanistan since the Islamist militants have been at the helm?

The UN refugee agency is warning that Afghanistan needs urgent support from the international community to prevent a larger humanitarian crisis. The comments come as some countries suggest they will only engage with the Taliban if they agree to respect human rights - in particular those of women and girls.

Cash and gold amounting to over $12 million have been taken in raids by the Taliban on former members of the Afghan government, as Afghanistan experiences a severe cash shortfall.
