The ban on political rallies, campaigns, and roadshows in India has been extended till January 31 by the Election Commission of India (EC). Relaxations on physical party meetings for Phase 1 and Phase 2 will take effect on January 28 and February 1, respectively, according to the electoral commission. The five-person limit for door-to-door campaigns has been increased to ten. On Saturday, January 22nd, the EC conducted a review meeting on the ongoing COVID-19 situation in five poll-bound states.
