Villagers in #Gumatapura, in the #India's state of Karnataka, were filmed throwing handfuls of cow dung at each other as part of religious celebrations.
The annual ceremony named Gorehabba, which concludes the famous #Diwali festival, is unique to the village.
"We believe that our deity is in this dung, centuries back when our villagers went to collect the cow dung they found our deity in this dung, so we celebrate and play with this dung every year after Diwali," said Siddharaj, a villager.
After the festival is over the dung is reportedly sold to local farmers to use as fertilizer for their crops.
