Toronto-based Wealthsimple, an online trading app, secured a landmark $750 million worth of fresh funding, with investors including Drake, Ryan Reynolds and Michael J. Fox, pushing the company's valuation to $5 billion.

The company has more than two million users across Canada and is attracting new users, some of who say they started using the app due to its ease of use compared to others.

As Anne Gaviola reports, the new funding has analysts saying the app has only just begun to change how Canadians bank and think about their money.
