During the hearing of India's fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi case, the Dominica government asked the court to dismiss Choksi's petition. Along with this, the government requested the court to extradite him to India. The government said that the petition filed by Choksi is not maintainable. Choksi's lawyer claimed that Mehul was kidnapped and beaten up while being brought to Dominica.
