Cases of domestic violence have skyrocketed the world over in lockdown. After all, many shelters had to go into quarantine and safe places for women became scarce. Several hotels across Russia have opened their doors to them. The Russian police have said that the numbers have actually gone down. But their human rights commissioner said cases of domestic violence in the country may have more than doubled, with NGOs fighting the problem sounding the alarm.
