Dogs and cats wore their cutest outfits and attended a special mass on Wednesday to receive blessings on San Roque’s day, the patron saint of dogs in Bolivia. This day marks the beginning of a full month of religious activities which runs until mid-September. The day gives the community a chance to come together, celebrate, and have a Paw-rty.
Catholic Katherine Tarraga dressed her five dogs in blue dresses and suits. For her, it’s important to take her dogs for the blessing every year as she loves them like her own kids and wants them to stay healthy.
Animals of all kinds and their owners enjoyed a special mass held in the church’s patio. Afterward, the priest blessed all the attendants.
