New data is showing the generational divide when it comes to trusting information on social media.
According to Ipsos polling conducted exclusively for Global News, two-thirds of Gen Z members said they trust information on social media, while for Millennials and Gen X, the figure is a little over half. As for baby boomers, only 45 per cent said they trust social media.
Across all age groups, 79 per cent of Canadians said they believe misinformation is a serious threat to democratic values.
Plus, six in 10 Canadians believe misinformation is more likely to spread on Twitter under its new owner, Elon Musk.
