संयुक्त राष्ट्र परिषद के मंच से भारत अक्सर, पाकिस्तान को आतंकवाद का रास्ता छोड़ने की सलाह देता रहा है। अभी हाल ही में भारत के विदेशमंत्री एस.जयशंकर ने पाकिस्तान को सलाह दी थी, कि अगर उसने आतंक का रास्ता नहीं छोड़ा तो वो बर्बाद हो जाएगा। उन्होंने पाकिस्तान को हिलेरी क्लिंटन के उस बयान की याद दिलाई थी, जिसमें उन्होंने कहा था कि 'जो लोग अपने आंगन में सांप पालते हैं, सांप उन्हें भी डसता है'।
