After losing her Lviv home in a deadly Russian missile strike that killed 10 on Thursday, a local mother recounted her family’s narrow escape from the destruction.
“We knew that death was chasing us,” Mirka Klos said, recalling the sounds of an air raid siren as their building “reverberated” from the shelling. Her husband Klos and their five children rushed to the nearest shelter following the attack.
“I think we as a nation went through so much pain and sufferings and that divine power must interfere. We proved to everyone what we are capable of,” she added.
On top of the 10 fatalities, Ukrainian authorities said that 45 people, including three children, have been injured. The attack reportedly damaged 35 residential houses, an office complex, a student campus, a school and several dozens of cars.
