"Death Penalty For Mob Lynching Under New Criminal Laws": Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha today, while replying to the debate on the three criminal code bills, said that the government has included a provision for the death sentence to those convicted in mob lynching cases. Taking a swipe at Congress leader P Chidambaram, he asked why his party didn't include mob lynching in the laws when it was in power. "Once I was listening to P Chidambaram's speech. He had said it's a test for the home minister that if he will bring a new law, then what will he do with (the issue) of mob lynching?" Mr Shah said.
