A meteor, seen as a brief flash of light streaking across the evening sky on Wednesday evening, captured the imagination of countless stargazers across the Pacific Northwest.

As of Thursday morning, the American Meteor Society received 143 witness reports from as far north as Cumberland, B.C., all the way to Roseburg, Ore., and as far east as Creston, B.C.

As Kylie Stanton reports, with several more weeks left in the Orionids meteor shower we can expect more fireballs to burn up the skies.
