The daughter of Davinder Kaur, the woman stabbed to death in a Brampton, Ont., park, says her mother had received a call to meet her estranged husband prior to her death, and that she had asked her to wait until they could go together.

Nav Nishan Singh, 44, has been charged in connection with the death.

Navneet Kaur says her father had moved out prior to Kaur’s death and that the relationship had been strained.

“We never thought this could happen,” she said.
