Last week the heads of Facebook, Twitter and Google were grilled in a Congressional hearing about their roles in promoting hate speech and conspiracy theories that led to the January 6 insurrection. The tech giants claim to be taking measures to slow the spread of misinformation. But a crackdown on mainstream platforms is pushing extremists onto less monitored forums.
