Court hears Alec Balwin’s request to dismiss charges in Rust shooting

In January, a grand jury indicted Alec Baldwin on an involuntary manslaughter charge in a 2021 fatal shooting during a rehearsal on a movie set in New Mexico that killed Halyna Hutchings. Since then, Baldwin’s lawyers have filed motions to dismiss the indictment and prevent the case from going to trial. The judge will make a decision next week.
