Could the worst Atlantic hurricane season be coming?

The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and Colorado State University weather forecasters said on Thursday that it could be an "extremely active" period.

According to the forecast, which is often one of the most widely followed, there could be 23 named storms, with 11 hurricanes, five of which could become major. The average season usually sees 14 storms, with seven hurricanes and three becoming major.

But as Sean Previl reports, not all scientists are convinced with at least one Canadian climatologist suggesting it's just too soon to say how severe the Atlantic season could be.
