Dr. Hari Shukla from Newcastle upon Type says “it’s a big relief” for him that he is going to be among the first people in the U.K. to be given the COVID-19 vaccine.

Shukla says he’s looking forward to the experience and he’s not worried - but rather thankful - for scientists who made it possible to develop a vaccine in a matter of months.

Britain gave emergency use approval for the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech last week - jumping ahead in the global race to begin the most crucial mass inoculation program in history.

In total, Britain has ordered 40 million doses. As each person requires two doses, that is enough to vaccinate 20 million people in the country of 67 million approximately.
