COVID-19 changed the world as we know it in 2020. Hundreds of Albertan families lost loved ones to the virus. Thousands in the province lost their jobs. In some way or another, the pandemic has impacted every single one of us. Physically, mentally and emotionally, it’s been a struggle – with no clear end in sight. But amid the uncertainty, stress and turmoil, there’s also a silver lining: Calgarians showcasing the true meaning of “we’re all in this together.”

Thousands of Calgarians have stepped up and helped each other, from providing necessities like food hampers and grocery runs, to simple acts of kindness to spread smiles. The Calgary Cares series on Global News highlighted some of those amazing stories of Calgarians selflessly helping Calgarians.
