Dubai is set to host COP28, the latest United Nations climate change conference, in what is meant to be a pivotal moment to accelerate action on reducing carbon emissions.

But ahead of the summit, leaked documents suggest the United Arab Emirates planned to use its role as host to promote deals for its national oil and gas companies, according to the Centre for Climate Reporting.
