U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended the COP26 climate summit on Tuesday as part of a congressional delegation, with the latter saying the country had returned to international climate negotiations with a new approach than it had the last time it was at the table.

Pelosi also spoke with reporters while at the climate summit and said the House of Representatives intends to pass President Joe Biden's "Build Back Better" legislation the week of Nov. 15. The $1.75 trillion social spending bill includes climate change provisions, such as tax credits for renewable energy and investments in electric vehicle deployment.

The bill, however, can only afford three Democrats to vote no for it to still pass as all House Republicans are expected to vote against the legislation.
