Conservative ministers make 'big promises' on asylum but 'never deliver'

Labour has seen Conservative ministers make "big promises" on asylum before, but they "never deliver", the shadow work and pensions secretary says.

Speaking to Sky's Sophy Ridge on Sunday, Jonathan Ashworth said Labour will study the new legislation - which is expected to be announced on Tuesday - "carefully" but there is work to be done on cracking down on people smuggling gangs.
