Concerns raised in 2018 about OceanGate's 'Titan' submersible: “It's not safe enough”

In 2018, the Marine Technology Society warned OceanGate Expeditions that the "Titan" submersible was "experimental," and could result in "minor to catastrophic" outcomes, according to the New York Times.

A former OceanGate employee was also reportedly fired after raising safety concerns about the submersible’s hull during deep dives.
