Comic Munawar Faruqui, Granted Bail By Supreme Court, Not Yet Released

Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was not released today from a jail in Madhya Pradesh, where he is being held for more than a month over allegations of "insulting Hindu Gods and Goddesses" during a show. The authorities of Indore jail, where he is being held, said they are yet to receive any order from the Supreme Court. He was granted bail by the top court on Friday.
