The former commander of Colombia's FARC rebel group has been questioned by a tribunal over the killing of a presidential candidate during the country's decades-long conflict, which began in the 1960s.
Rodrigo Londono, better known as Timochenko, is being grilled about an unsolved murder on Wednesday by investigators of Colombia’s Special Jurisdiction for Peace, or JEP, a unique tribunal created to investigate and judge the worst crimes committed during the country's civil conflict.
The peace tribunal had been criticised for its lack of action, but recent charges brought against former rebel leaders are forcing people to change their opinions.
Al Jazeera’s Alessandro Rampietti reports from Bogota, Colombia.
