Collapsed tech firm blames government bureaucracy for failure

The head of Britishvolt has told Sky News that Britain has now missed its window of opportunity to build a battery industry, and the government, including Rishi Sunak, is largely to blame.

The company was regarded as the jewel in Britain’s manufacturing crown - it would have been the first home-grown gigafactory, co-financed by the government and making electric car batteries in the North East - but it went into administration earlier this year.

In his first interview, co-founder Orral Nadjari blamed government bureaucracy for its failure.
