Germany's cabinet has approved a major strategy for dealing with China - its biggest trading partner, but also a potential geopolitical rival.

After months of delay and debate, this is the German government's first strategy paper on China. It's expected to put pressure on German companies to 'de-risk' or reduce their dependence on Beijing - without cutting off cooperation.

Recent supply chain interruptions, and potential problems with China's ambitions over Taiwan, have caused concern among leaders here.

DW's China analyst Clifford Coonan takes us through the paper.
