Climate Change: UN warns global warming is set to be more than double agreed 1.5 degree limit

The UN has warned that the world is on track for global warming to be more than double the 1.5 degree limit agreed in Paris in 2015.

A pioneering report stated that simply cutting emissions was no longer enough to curb the climate crisis.

The UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres called the climate report a "litany of broken climate promises... cataloguing the empty pledges that put us firmly on track towards an unliveable world".
