It is one of the remotest places on earth - rich in marine life and home to unique species of wildlife - but even the Galapagos islands have not escaped the impact of the pandemic. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)

And now Chinese industrial fishing fleets have also been plundering the waters off the Galapagos coast - putting its fragile ecosystem under even further strain.

Officials are rushing to vaccinate the population - in an effort to revive the islands' multi-million pound tourism industry on which it so heavily depends.
