China's President Xi Jinping and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met in Moscow on Tuesday, on the second day of Xi's state visit to Russia.

During the meeting, Xi Jinping has invited Russian Prime Minister to visit China. Xi also called for regular meetings between the two countries' prime ministers.

"Let me stress that the mechanism of regular meetings between prime ministers must be quickly restored. And I invite you to pay a visit to China as soon as possible, so that you can establish close ties with the new Premier of the State Council, Li Qiang," the Chinese leader said.

China's President Xi Jinping has also invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to China this year for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the official Xinhua News agency reported on Tuesday.

Xi, who arrived in Moscow on March 20, had already met with President Vladimir Putin as the two countries discuss deepening economic ties and China's plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict.
