The reasons why China has been angered recently by Taiwan and wishes to attack on the country to capture it again could be upcoming elections in China, in which Xi Jinping has to save his seat of the President by fulfilling the promise of Taiwan being a part of China. Along with those, USA's continuous involvement with Taiwan has posed a threat to China's plans.
