China reopens its borders to tourists for first time since pandemic

China, one of the last major countries to reopen its borders to tourists, will resume issuing all visas on March 15. In an effort to revive tourism and its economy following the COVID-19 pandemic, visa-free travel will be allowed from southern Chinese areas, but visitors from the U.S. and Canada will still have to provide a negative PCR test before boarding a plane.
