The Chinese government has accused Washington of being “reckless” as US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has arrived in Taiwan with promises to support and defend the island. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
It has raised anger in Beijing which has warned Washington of serious consequences.
Ms Pelosi is the highest ranking American official to visit the self-ruled island in 25 years.
